Vocab Options

A wide range of vocabulary options are available on Communication Devices from Liberator.



Unity is a unique and effective solution for representing language in an AAC device. Unity uses a small set of pictures which when combined in short sequences, words and sentences can be quickly produced.

Unity supports vocabulary development from basic functional communication to talking in complete sentences. It provides the tools for learning language, building vocabulary and developing literacy for individuals who are pre-literate to those with strong literacy skills. Features like ‘Icon Tutor’ (to quickly help you find words) and ‘Vocabulary Builder’ (to quickly set the system with just the words you want to teach) make supporting and using the system easy.

easyChat core

easyChat is a robust set of AAC vocabularies and computer/phone access. The vocabulary is organised with the most common words arranged by parts of speech on the easyCore home page.

Extended interest, daily life and lesson-based vocabulary is available from the easyTopics pages. The easyChat family consists of four options: easyChat Core, easyChat Phrases, easyChat Words and easyChat Spell. Each option is available in 4/8, 15, 28, 36, 45, 60 and 84 grid sizes and has a variety of features, yet the consistency of its layout is optimal for supporting multiple clients or transitioning between vocabularies




Essence is a text based program that allows individuals the ability to communicate using a selection of familiar keyboards, pre-stored phrases and word prediction.

Essence combines language access with infrared environmental controls, word processing, email, internet access, MP3 player and scheduling reminders.

When deteriorating motor abilities make typing difficult, Essence can be accessed using switches, head-pointing, joystick or eye-gaze.


Core Scanner

CoreScanner is a progressive vocabulary program specifically designed for individuals with physical disabilities, who best access augmentative communication technology through the use of a switch.

The CoreScanner design is based upon the foundations of Unity, and LAMP that have proven effective for so many people and on the following principles; Motor Planning, Single Words, Core Vocabulary and Frequency of Use, Robust Vocabulary Needs and Early Access.


LAMP - Words for Life


LAMP - Words for Life™ is a vocabulary that combines the power of the Unity® and LAMP. LAMP is a therapeutic approach based on neurological and motor learning principles as well as clinical experiences that address the language
development and communication needs of those with autism.

It provides a consistent motor pattern for words and a systematic way to develop communication skills allowing for unlimited language growth opportunities.


Word Power and Picture Word Power


WordPower is available as a text or pictorial based program.  Both programs combine core vocabulary, spelling and topic-based pages in a variety of grid sizes: 45, 60, 84 and
144 keys.

WordPower and Picture WordPower are supplemented by an extensive range of pages that are fully customisable. Both programs feature a QWERTY keyboard and word prediction. Picture WordPower is available with either PCS or MinSymbols.



WordCore is a text-based program that offers the user the ability to access core vocabulary combined with spelling and word prediction. For those with developed literacy skills WordCore provides quick and easy access to language

WordCore can be used in a variety of grid sizes (45, 60, 84 and 144 keys) and is easy to use and support.


NOVA Chat Vocabs

NOVA chat offers a whole range of vocabularies including the popular WordPower, Essence, MultiChat, myQuickChat and Vocab PC.
