SUMMARY:Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) - Launceston
DESCRIPTION:LAMP is an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) app
 roach designed to support spontaneous and independent communication through
  a speech generating device. This course will cover the following:\n\n 	Rea
 diness to learn\n 	Engaging the learner through joint engagement\n 	Learnin
 g language through a unique and consistent motor plan paired with an audito
 ry signal and natural consequence.\n\nDiscussion will include how this appr
 oach supports language development\, device features that are beneficial to
  teaching language and how to use those features to implement the LAMP appr
 oach.\n\nDay 2 will cover will include assessing current language level\, s
 etting goals for developmental progression\, and analyzing data logging. Th
 e presenter will cover a variety of strategies and supports to support lang
 uage development such as expanding vocabulary in natural environments\, mod
 eling\, teaching the motor plan\, and how to use aided language input. Dev
 ices will be available for hands on learning.\n\nThis training is designed 
 for speech pathologists\, teachers\, parents and any other team members who
