AAC Assessment & Implementation Training 2 days – Brisbane
This is a 2-day face to face, hands on training on assessment and implementation for AAC. Participants will get access to a range of communication devices and software for practical sessions.
Participants will learn about:
Day 1 – Assessment for AAC:
- Frameworks and tools for AAC assessment
- Using the SETT framework
- Feature matching with hands-on exploration of different language systems
- Goal setting for trials
- Data Collection, evaluation and funding considerations
Day 2 – Implementation for AAC
- Reviewing foundational AAC implementation strategies
- Identify and use supports for implementation including AAC language Lab,
NuVoice, Chat Editor, activity ideas - Understand the importance of ongoing data collection
- Identify and analyse the data collected by Realize Language to track
progress over time and guide goals - Compare and utilise the descriptive and referential teaching approaches
- Identify ways to support communication partner
This training is designed for:
- Speech Pathologists supporting AAC Communicators
This is a face-to-face training event held over 2 days from 9:30am – 4pm. This session will not be recorded or offered online.
