AAC Implementation Full Day Training
Learning Outcomes
For participants to:
- Review foundational AAC implementation strategies
- Know how to get a device ready for implementation, and when to use inbuilt software features that can support implementation e.g. vocabulary builder, hide/show, highlight cells
- Identify and use supports for implementation including AAC Language Lab, Nuvoice and Chat Editor, Activity ideas, including activity first / word first approach.
- Understand the importance of ongoing data collection
- Identify and analyse the various measurements that can be analysed by Realize language to track progress over time and guide goals
- Compare and utilise the descriptive teaching and referential approaches
- For participants to identify ways to support communication partners
This training is designed for:
- Speech Pathologists supporting AAC users
- Teachers and education assistants
- Parents and carers of AAC users
- Support workers
This is a face to face training event held over 6 hours. This session will not be recorded or offered online.
