Device and Accessory Warranties

To make a warranty claim, contact Liberator by emailing support@liberator.net.au, through our website contact form, or by telephone on 02 9124 9945. If a device or accessory needs to be repaired in our workshop, we will send you a postage link with instructions for returning it to us.

Liberator 3 Year Device Warranty

The Liberator 3 Year Device Warranty is applicable to Accent, NovaChat, Liberator Rugged, and Via devices that were shipped on or after 1 September 2024. Devices shipped before that date retain their original warranty from the date of shipment.

The 3 Year Device Warranty covers the following items for 3 years from the date of shipment:

  • Device repairs for defects in materials and workmanship (including battery)
  • Device repairs for accidental damage1
  • Replacement of damaged or broken Standard Device Components
  • Standard shipping costs to and from locations within Australia and New Zealand
  • Unlimited phone and email technical support within usual business hours
  • Use of Liberator loan equipment during repair on request (subject to availability).

1 This warranty does not cover accidental damage if the device is being used in a third-party rental scheme.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. This warranty covers Liberator devices and Standard Device Components. Standard Device Components include device handles, stands, chargers, keyguard frames, screen protectors, and wraps.
  2. Liberator accessories that are not Standard Device Components are excluded from this warranty and are warranted separately through the Liberator 1 Year Accessory Warranty. (Accessories that are covered separately include, but are not limited to, eye trackers, head trackers, switches, keyguards, touchguides, cases, and mounts.)
  3. This Warranty applies to devices purchased directly through Liberator in Australia or Desktop Technology Services Ltd in New Zealand. It does not apply to devices purchased through any other Liberator distributor or subsidiary outside of Australia and New Zealand.
  4. Warranty coverage for defects in materials and workmanship does not include damage resulting from theft, loss, or perils and Acts of Nature. (Acts of Nature include, but are not limited to tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, fires and hurricanes.)
  5. Warranty coverage for accidental damage includes device failure due to a drop, liquid or foreign matter ingress, or incidents other than Acts of Nature in which the device must be returned to Liberator for repair.
  6. The use of Liberator loan equipment during repair is subject to Liberator’s standard equipment loan terms and conditions. Service loans outside of Australia are generally not available.
  7. Loan equipment is subject to availability. Liberator will make every effort to match loan equipment to an original device configuration to enable comparable access and communication.
  8. The replacement of Standard Device Components is limited to components included with the equipment at the time of purchase.

  10. Liberator has sole discretion to determine if a defect or damage is covered by the warranty.
  11. Liberator does not cover shipping costs outside of Australia or New Zealand.
  12. The remedies stated in this warranty are the sole remedies for any claims or damages arising out of or relating to a device. Liberator’s obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or, at Liberator’s option, replacing a device at no charge within a reasonable time after the receipt of notice as to such defect.
  13. This warranty shall be void if the product is repaired or otherwise tampered with in any manner by anyone other than Liberator authorised service personnel. Liberator is not responsible for indirect or consequential damages arising out of failure or malfunction of the device. And in no event shall Liberator be responsible to the purchaser or user of a device for any amount greater than the purchase price of the device that is the subject of the claim.
  14. This warranty coverage transfers to any subsequent device owner during the warranty term. Warranty coverage does not transfer to a subsequent device purchase.
  15. All sales are conditioned upon this warranty and purchase of a Liberator device shall be deemed as acceptance of the terms of the warranty.

Liberator 1 Year Accessory Warranty

The Liberator 1 Year Accessory Warranty is applicable to accessories that were shipped on or after 1 September 2024. Accessories shipped before that date retain their original warranty from the date of shipment.

The 1 Year Accessory Warranty covers the following items for one year from the date of shipment:

  • Repair or replacement of damaged or broken accessories, due to defects in materials and workmanship
  • Standard shipping costs to and from locations within Australia and New Zealand
  • Unlimited phone and email technical support within usual business hours.

Terms and Conditions

  1. This warranty covers Liberator accessories including eye trackers, head trackers, switches, keyguards, touchguides, cases, and mounts.
  2. It applies to accessories purchased directly through Liberator in Australia or Desktop Technology Services Ltd in New Zealand. It does not apply to accessories purchased through any other Liberator distributor or subsidiary outside of Australia and New Zealand.
  3. Warranty coverage for defects in materials and workmanship does not include damage resulting from theft, loss, or perils and Acts of Nature. (Acts of Nature include, but are not limited to tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, fires and hurricanes.)

  5. Standard keyguards and touchguides may be replaced or exchanged with other standard keyguards and touchguides during the warranty term, due to damage or to accommodate a different vocabulary system available within the device.
  6. Liberator has sole discretion to determine if a defect or damage is covered by the warranty.
  7. The remedies stated in this Warranty are the sole remedies for any claims or damages arising out of or relating to the covered accessories. Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or, at Liberator’s option, replacing the accessory at no charge within a reasonable time after the receipt of notice as to such defect.
  8. This warranty shall be void if the accessory is repaired or otherwise tampered with in any manner by anyone other than our authorised service personnel. Liberator is not responsible for indirect or consequential damages arising out of failure or malfunction of an accessory. And in no event shall Liberator be responsible to the purchaser or user of an accessory for any amount greater than the purchase price of the accessory that is the subject of the claim.
  9. This warranty coverage transfers to any subsequent accessory owner during the warranty term. Warranty coverage does not transfer to a subsequent accessory purchase.
  10. All sales are conditioned upon this warranty and purchase of a Liberator accessory shall be deemed as acceptance of the terms of the warranty.
