Max
Max is 17 years of age and has a diagnosis of ASD. He currently uses an Accent 1000 with LAMP Words for Life.
Max lives in a voluntary out of home care residential placement and has a very strong support network which is made up of his family, extended family, health care providers, dedicated support staff and teachers.
Max attends a variety of community events with his family and particularly enjoys soccer, swimming, bike rides, go karts, driving in the car, holidays and going to the movies with his Dad. Max also loves the Wiggles, playing on the ipad and sitting in his swing.
Before Max had his Accent device, he used cards with photos to make requests and key word sign to indicate more or finished. Since implementing the Accent device, Max is able to use his device to request, reject and comment. He is using up to six word sentences and continues to enjoy exploring his device.
